1st Week

Arriving at the gates on Hendon on Monday, my feelings were mixed. Actually I was happy. Happy to see all the brothers that went through all those shit of army with me for the 2+ years. The start of the in camp is the start of the endless catching up with each other. Of course, how can it be complete without its own humour? Haha.

So Monday was darn hot a day to begin with. It does not help when our bunk is the highest level. The Penthouse of the block. And we had the most famous block of Hendon to contend with. It absolutely traps all the entire fucking heat there is for the day, and unleash its fury upon us when we are back in bunk in the evening and during our sleep time. So Monday past by with all the briefings and introduction. And that Welcome Run in the evening is downright suffering. Damn hot! Oh did I mention our failed attempt at watching Transformers? Haha, damn stupid, don't ask.

Come Tuesday we had a little physical training in the morning. Given that most of us have not exercise or did any pt since the day we ORD, the end result is aching joints and muscles. Tuesday went by almost similar to Mon, but that basketball session in the evening was satisfying. Haha, a trip to the mess with some cheap beer completed the night.

Wednesday morning was power run, aka long stride running. Again, running is the bane for a lot of us. So, aching legs. Hahha More lessons during the day, feels more shag than school lesson. Must be the uniform man. Sucks. We finally managed to catch Transformers in the night. Haha

IMT for Thursday, prep for live firing on Friday. And also a visit to Kahtib camp, home of the King of the Battlefield. Had a little 'tour' and get to see our 'partners' in war. Dinner was Fish Head Curry and Zi Char at Changi Village! Yum!

Friday we had the slackest live firing ever. It all ended before lunch. Can you believe it? When during service, our usual get-back-camp timing is usually 2 or 3 am. How time have changed man. Wahahhaa, so back to camp and prepare to book out for the weekend lo.

So there you have it, the week of a very slack NS man. Hahhaa I told you my unit is slack when they are slack. :)

Will be going to Tekong for a few days next week, sucks. I'm sure it will fly pass pretty soon. So yeah, see ya next week.
