Lies and deceits
Remember that time in junior college where your lecturers and tutors will tell you that JC is the last piece of crap shit that you need to endure before your admission to the university? When they tell you that university was going to be a lot more fun and less stressful?
OMFG imagine my horror when I discovered it was never meant to be. University life is nowhere near the description that your teachers gave you, at all.
It was all just one big fat lie, to get you to work hard for your 'A' Levels. Bullshit! LIARS!!
Well call it motivation, but a certain cynical Danny would call it sweet revenge. Imagine the days of your teachers and lecturers when they were in university, suffering and going through the same %$^#^@^ crap as you are now, just imagine the agony and pain. Yes, and upon graduation they need to find an outlet. Couple that pain with the stress of teaching this bunch of monkeys that have nothing in their mind except fun and laughter.
There you have it, the MOTHER of all revenge. Implanting into them the concept of tertiary education is the Eden of education. Where lessons are excuses for parties and project meetings are chilling sessions at the nearest pub with the live band. Only when you realised all these are but a make believe. The shock and awe that you find yourself in when you finally realised there is no truth in it. Why thank you very much, there you have it, the sweet satisfaction that you see on the faces of those that you knew.
Back in this insane reality, I come to realise that grades, no doubt important, can only carry you that far. Do yourself a favour by giving back you the life that you have so cruelly taken away. University life should not be all about work and study. Really, it should be the best years of your life before the slogging of the work place.
"Your days at university are meant to be the best days of your life but can most SMU students truly say that? Do you want to away with you a memory of the endless stress and agony of work, or would you prefer the picture perfect scene of fulfilling some your deepest desires? There is only space for one. So choose.
In the midst of all the %^%#^*$!@#!@(*, this is meant to be a light hearted post. So, all the best to you out there. :)

When we graduate, what are we going to miss - the immense competition?"
