2 weeks. Things happened. Good and bad. Overall, bearable.
Cake from neighbour was absolutely sinful. Nice. Thank you! :) A little bit of shopping for myself. Take it as rewarding myself, though there isn't any reason to do so.
The camp this year was rather different from last year? The drowning incident obviously did not help. First time helping out backstage. I now appreciate all the unsung heroes. Often when things went well front line, they were taken for granted. But when things went wrong, they face the baptism of fire. How nice indeed. Okay that is not the point. It was pretty interesting seeing how a group of people with all their different ideas came together and conducted the camp. But when you hear things like "there are tensions among them", no matter how good things look on the surface, it is never okay. Oh wells.
The short trip was relaxing though. Not much shopping done. But plenty of 7 Eleven food; cheap food; nice expresso coffee; cooling fruit smoothies; friendly people; hot weather; colourful taxis; taxi drivers; speeding taxis. You get the point. On the other hand, what touched me was how a city can be developed yet backward at the same time. My experience in LA and SF was that there was a clear divide between the zones. But not in Bkk. The line is blurred. And there was something about the people there too. They were almost innocently captivating. Nothing too complicated. Why can't we live our lives like these sometimes too?
