Smuxgasbord : NiteBke'06

SMUX annual night bike was last night. Prior to take, went to get my bike from KH. Thanks a lot pal.

Yup, so a Saturday night of September 2006, 23th, we met at Bishan Park where the night bike is slated to flag off. Meeting at 1830 proved to be wise as there were late comers, as usual. And there was a slight delay in the flagging off also. Length of route is approx 65km.

Moving off from Bishan, our 1st stop is at MacRitchie Reservior Park. Stopped at the carpark and played the 1st game of the night, Taboo! The night proved to be an interesting night for 2 of my friends in my group. For those of you who understand, :D

Moving off, we rode down and arrived at the old SMU building. Passing that, we headed in the direction of 6th Ave and KAP. Finally stopping for supper at ard 2230. Although it is early for supper, the place was packed. Chatted and slacked while waiting for the food to arrive.

Supper time!

Setting off after supper, we found ourselves cycling down towards Labrador park. Past Ikea and the old SAJC, the ride was quite enjoyable as there are very little cars on the road at that time. Chatted, sang and stir some shit while biking there.

Arriving at Labrador park, we rested a while before commencing on our 2nd game of the night. Wasn't too bad, I mean, they could have made us play more lame and shitty games. :D

Labrador Park

Next stop, Marina City park. The space near Marina Bay train station. The entire CBD is so peaceful in the dead of the night. Nice. Last game station at Marina. Poor Louis is wet from the game. And it is cold water. Poor thing. But we had fun nonetheless. Sandwiches awaited us and there was Red Bull for those needed a little boost.

At Marina

Heading to our end point of East Coast Park, we needed to get over Sheares Bridge. The night line of the Bay area is nice. With the Esplanade and the hotels and banks contrasting each other. Passing by THE very nice bridge beside the Indoor Stadium, how can we not cam whore a little?

Eh, not pro enough for the night shots la. Some random shots instead.

Heh. ECP was within sight after passing DHS. Finally the well deserved break for all. And where else is better to chill but MacDonald's! (Actually it is the only thing that was open at 0530, haha)

Hang around for the debrief and then headed home. Gosh riding back to Ang Mo Kio to return the bike was darn shag. Rode with Zhi Hao and we even stopped at Boon Keng for breakfast 1st. Haha, a good night spent.

Actually the ride itself was not as physically shag as I thought it might be. Quite enjoyable and relaxing. It is definitely better than the SMUX camp's. No major hiccups in the organisation of the activity. Our group leaders were nice. Interesting people in my group.

The aftermath. My ass felt like it is going to crack into 2. Leg wise actually not so shag. Felt like a normal long distance run. The beauty sleep that followed made up for most of the fatigue suffered i guess.

Last note. Well, of course the night bike would have been more interesting if those who cannot join us, were present. It is always nice when everybody can have fun together and nobody is left out. Won't you agree?
