八月十五庆中秋

Of badminton, lanterns and of course, some fire. Gotten a Yonex Arcsaber 8dx frame from the warehouse sales, but before that I've to get it strung. A steal at the price of 100 when the prices that I've seen online usually range upwards of 200.

A badminton game, dinner and some frozen yogurt later, it was off to our little picnic on the park connector along the river(read:canal). This is where we ended our night with lanterns, candles, sparklers and *ahem, a little flare. Pictures are noisy, focus is bad, will need the tripod next time. 

And then a snail decides to join in our picnic. 

What is a small light, 

when you can have a giant flare? Okay I lied about the little flare. But it was exaggerated by the camera settings. 

Let's just say I'm very amused by this. But that doesn't make me a bimmer lover.

September 25th.

If you don't have good things to say, it is always better to keep your mouth shut. Either way, keeping quiet and commenting draws criticism. So why offer others the extra ammunition to use against yourself? Stupid.

On another hand, I was actually surfing the web researching badminton rackets. No thanks to the sis who alerted me to an upcoming sales event. I used to play, decently I supposed. Until I was deemed too lousy for VS, rofl, that was when I got into air rifle till JC. Who knows, I may pick it up again.

Fifty shades completed. Hmm. A love story with a thin plot that revolves around the Ana and Christian, fast progression, and lots of love making involving vanilla and some, to quote:kinky fuckery. I was hoping for a greater twist involving the Jack Hyde saga, or a more in depth expansion of the relationship between Elena, Lincoln and Christian; those two did not materialise anywhere, which I felt left me somewhat short-changed. Overall, an easy read and one which will take you little effort to complete, however felt that the hype didn't translate into its expected result.

September babies are usually special. The sis is one of them. Happy birthday to you today, and erm, a little wiser? Haha.

A trip to the western side of the island, and the irony of it being so deserted yet we didn't qualify for the 1st 500 free lanterns. Lol.

A swim in the morning, breakfast, nap, Korean bbq dinner, disappointing 杨枝甘露, beer and some pizza; makes this week seemed a little nicer. Oh did I mention I had steamboat and waffle on Tuesday as well? :)

First you wonder why people bother to do stuff like these; and then you stopped to ponder exactly just how small we are. And the Milky Way's Galactic Center is just awesome.

Not the best 10km when the body refused to cooperate, another chance to try make it right on 21st Oct. Still, it was a good effort from all of us. Till then.

In terms of politics, if he has not won already, these two brought him closer to that reelection.

I guess Barack Obama will have a hard time topping them and wrap things up at the convention when he takes to the stage.

And for this song from the past, it was suddenly stuck on me after hearing it on the airwaves on Friday during the dedication day event on local radio.

Dropped by Mayor of Tiny Town for dinner this week, showing our support this new establishment. Simple fare, topped off with a good waffle. :) 

Dropped by Kinokuniya. Didn't purchase much, physically. Haha. Though I 'leeched' onto someone else's online order. :D




Got some stuff from Comex on Friday too.



Last long run at the bay before the actual run next weekend. The sun was unforgiving, and the heat was scorching. Guess it is striking back with a vengeance as usual, after a lazy week at work where its glory was hidden beneath the thick storm clouds.





Got to shower before we headed down a little further east to collect the race pack for the run.
