On a night when the air is heavy and your legs weighed like ten tonne bricks, just gotta push on.

The truth is I dislike running, any form of it. I am fully for the notion that nobody will enjoy running like how one likes snoozing in bed when the alarm goes off in the morning. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I stand with the majority. We run for many different reasons; most commonly IPPT for the guys; keeping our weight in check; or simply peer pressure.

I have always struggled with this activity. I was never the fastest nor could I run the longest. This love-hate relationship started back in 2003. The dread of starting a day in the unearthly hour of 0500 every morning with a run, often with the cold sticky air remains vivid in my memory.

Between interval trainings aka power runs and going long distances, I have my fair share of mixed emotions about them. The former; you know after achieving the target timing and laps the run is over. The latter; well, best done with a form of motivation like friends, or any matters that you need to think it through. Between the two, I would choose interval training. The suffering will be over before we even know it. Oh and did I mention the rush you feel when you meet your targets? Yeah, it feels kinda good.

So last night the bunch of us decided to embark on this crazy idea. We are going to provide moral and logistic support to our friends who, willingly or not, signed up for the sundown full marathon. So we forsook our beauty sleep and met at ECP. Groundsheet spread out, ice box by the side, cyalume sticks activated for identification and we took out place beside the route that they will be running. Picnic we thought we are having, but the heavens had other ideas. The wind picked up and the clouds gathered, soon thunder roared and lightning streaked across the sky. The drizzle soon grew in strength into a downpour. Runners were getting drenched while we took shelter in McD. Runners grimaced in pain from cramps, abrasions or simply fatigue; and couples who fought the elements hand in hand literally :) Those who decided to call it quit soon found themselves having an early breakfast.

James, Jon and YH appeared at the timing we thought they would. Tried our best to talk them into hitching a ride back to the start point to collect their stuff, but we didn't succeed. Haha. Some 损友 we were. So after seeing them off for their second half of the distance, we had our breakfast and prepared for them come by again. But they had already past us. So five of us, under four umbrellas as the rain pelted down; it was quite a comical sight. I was back at seven, and straight to bed I went after I washed up.

Went to do make payment for the dive trip as well. After much delay we've finally confirmed a date. It will be a good getaway. After all, we are going to breathe bottled air.

A tex(t)ing pee

The notion that men cannot effectively multi-tasks was put to a challenged by what I encountered in the loo last week. It didn't happen to me, but what I had seen.

So there I doing my business when in strode a guy to occupy the urinal to my right (adhering to Male Restroom Etiquette situation number three @ 2:40). So in the middle of it all his cellphone beeped, out he took from his pocket and proceeded to text single-handedly. Multi-tasking on a whole new level? I simply don't think it was THAT urgent to reply the text there and then in the middle of releasing your bladder. For you would have made a call instead of texting a reply? Well, that is just being me. I sure hope he washed both his hands.

Even when I see men on the phone while doing their business at the urinals, I was always secretly praying that the phone being kiap-ed between the shoulder and head will just slip off and fall into the urinal.

Speed

So today I decided to sort the list of titles that I have in my iTunes on the mac(finally) when I came across this song. Haven't heard it in a long while. I remember Speed was quite the rage back in lower secondary school days. The days of transition from the Sony Walkman to compact disc players; boy school and a female group. It was fourteen years ago maybe? I thought they are looking better now. Natural or otherwise. Not that concerned about the rest, but Hiroko looked really good with that short crop and 多了一份成熟感, which I thought is really nice! And I guess not having to deal with the awkward days of trying to look more mature than your age back then, naturally makes you feel more confident about yourself. And with that confidence I feel, makes a lady attractive. :)

Live in 2010.

The music video back then.

Of left click, right click, 1, 2, 3, 4 and Q. Nothing better than now to test the lifespan of my mouse clicks. Pretty much all I've been doing recently. I'm not incredibly excited at the moment, but it might change when we are at the maximum level later. After all, who likes grinding?

Nothing more distracting than drafting for A only for ideas to be flowing for draft B. Meh.

Super messy now. Trying. To. Organise.

Counting down. To being a monk. I think..

Ict's sleep cycle is currently still in effect. Hitting the sack soon. Got a draft, but for another day.

In the meantime, are you ready?

Half time

and no respite. Aches on the various parts of the body right now, especially the gluteus maximus after the unforgiving slopes of Bt Batok this morning. In fact after the warm up exercises involving the 4 flights of 120+ steps on the slope, we had our legs spasming non sop when we stood still. And then came the 4 intervals of slope run. Killed our legs today. Over the past few days I woke up with new aches. Rofl. Looks like our weekly upkeep maintenance isn't up to CO's standard (obviously there); however I can duly attribute some credits to our weekly sessions of run, pt and supper(oops!). Else I will definitely be in a worse shape than I am in current. Peer pressure much. But well despite the pain and ache, the improvements are visible. So I guess.

Well my lower limps feels like it might just cramp anytime later when I'm sleeping.

Oh and since it rained and snails were out, I was reminded of the fact that snails lay eggs. Random much but anyway.

By right I should be catching up on some precious sleep, but here I am wide awake at 0440h as I'm typing this, with a bowl of strawberries beside me. Thing is I was out for an impromptu nasi lemak supper just a couple of hours earlier and came home feeling completely drained. But yeah, I was jolted awake by myself and can't get back to sleep since. So I decided to wake up.

The weather has been ridiculously hot these days. Mid year, I know. You get days like these where sunshine is bountiful.

Or like these where the sky is blue, with not a single cloud in sight.

Days like those are best treated with a healthy dose of chill like these.

The plus point is if you are lucky, you might be treated to such a scene at sunset.

So why should I not be trying hard to get back to sleep? That is because I'm off to my annual in camp reservist tomorrow, rather in a couple of hours time. Told the gang earlier the night that I had the book-in feeling as I was folding the uniform for in-process. Although reservist is nothing like the days of a shit NSF, still it feels vaguely familiar. Rofl. Looking forward to a week of punishing physical training; endless laughter and fun; the latest gossips; and most importantly a lot of sleep. Hehe.

And off to chalet I am going.

Countdown

So the closed beta ended and it is 2 weeks to the launch. It is too easy and scaled down from its predecessor. Think adding points to skills disappearing, you get what I mean. Somewhat tailored to cater to more casual people by being less technical. Well, I guess whatever they will do to retain or attract players, new and old.

For a game 11 years in the waiting, I'm just hoping it won't suck and me ended up regretting getting it.

Edging towards the following 2 classes. This, the good ol' cleave-o-matic.

And this, just-because-it-feels-so-overpowered-even-with-the-changes-in-beta new kid on the block. Thus it feels like a necessity to have.

How predictable and boring of these two, I know right.

That being said, there is an inclination towards this as well. It is pretty weak in the start of the game, but definitely kickass later for its old school spell awesomeness.

So who are you fighting alongside me?

Of 主公, 反贼, 忠臣 & 内奸

Accounting to somewhat of an addiction? Two nights of 三国杀 in rapid succession, Sat and tonight; one can only say it is preparation for the holiday next week in the east. Heh.

On another note, another night of sinful prata. Undoing all the runs huh.

Happy Labour Day holiday people.
